The Background Redline was a well-established business in the communications and technology space, with a strong trading history and clear strategic relevance to acquisitive buyers in the sector. Evolution Capital was proud to advise the shareholder’s of Redline as they considered the next stage of their journey. Using EC Analytics, the team completed an early discovery exercise to assess Redline’s strengths, areas for improvement and likely points of buyer scrutiny. This gave the shareholders a clear, evidence-led view of the business and supported a more informed decision on exit planning. The appointment of a CFO role represents one of the most material commitments it can make. The appointment comes at a time when Evolution Capital group is scaling its advisory and financial due diligence capabilities, alongside the continued rollout of EC Analytics as a core pillar of the firm’s offering. Chris brings more than a decade of experience across finance leadership, audit and high-growth environments, with a track record spanning venture-backed technology companies, private equity-owned businesses and complex operational settings. He has led finance functions through periods of scale, fundraising, system transformation and strategic repositioning, and is known for combining analytical rigour with a collaborative leadership style. Prior to joining Evolution Capital, Chris held senior finance leadership roles including Head of Finance and Finance Director positions across multiple organisations, including senior finance leadership roles at Sowga and Pareto FM, and Finance Director at Playmint, where he led teams, supported fundraising activity and delivered disciplined budgeting and financial modelling to support strategic growth.. His experience includes building and leading finance teams, supporting investment and fundraising processes, strengthening financial controls, and implementing systems that improve clarity, reporting discipline and decision-making. His appointment reflects Evolution Capital’s continued focus on building institutional strength alongside sector specialism. As the firm grows its transaction activity and expands EC Analytics as a data-led platform underpinning advisory, diligence and performance insight, the CFO role will play a central part in ensuring the business scales in a structured and sustainable way. “Chris joins us at an important moment in the firm’s development.
